Big Tech

Doc Society, in collaboration with The Citizens, launched the Big Tech Narrative Initiative in 2024 to help artists and storytellers unlock creative and courageous vision and give our publics a clearer understanding of how Big Tech is shaping society today and tomorrow.

We kicked this off on Tuesday 3 December, 2024 with an online gathering of experts including Carole Cadwalladr, Zamaan Qureshi, Shoshana Zuboff, and Nkem Agunwa, together with filmmakers and journalists, publishers + commissioners, campaigners + technologists, academics + philanthropists who are thinking about the power and potential of narrative strategy and Big Tech.

We have begun building our collective knowledge and strategy, connecting with new colleagues who share a common goal of understanding and shaping the narrative around Big Tech.

This is just the first phase of work. Big Tech and its impacts on society is a new narrative initiative for Doc Society’s Democracy Story Unit, and this is the start of a series of programmes and funding opportunities around this topic.

Please sign up to our newsletter to stay up to date with announcements about the next developments of the Big Tech Narrative Initiative. If you have any questions, or are working on a project relating to this topic that you want to share with us, please write to democracy@docsociety.org.
